Meet Danielle

Senator Danielle Conrad is a civil rights attorney and the senior member of the Nebraska Legislature. First elected in 2006, she served two terms before returning in 2023 as the first woman to overcome term limits. Danielle has held key leadership roles on committees including Appropriations, Redistricting, and Performance Audit, and today serves on Education, Natural Resources, and Retirement Systems. She is recognized as a champion for working families, open government, civil liberties, and economic freedom. Danielle and her husband Tom live in Lincoln’s East Campus neighborhood with their two children.

As our State Senator, Danielle:

  • Secured more funding for higher education and critical infrastructure improvements

  • Cut taxes, raised wages, and expanded access to housing and child care for middle-class families

  • Improved access to health care for seniors, women, and children

  • Fought to protect the will of the people on minimum wage, sick leave, and medical cannabis

  • Strengthened public records, open meetings, and legislative oversight to hold government overreach accountable

  • Cut burdensome government red tape to benefit small business and families

  • Led a bipartisan coalition to defeat the largest tax increase in Nebraska’s history

  • Champion for smart justice reforms-tough penalties for violent crimes, support for victims, increased access to treatment and problem solving courts to reduce taxpayer burden and strengthen our shared public safety goals

Why I’m Running

We need an independent leader who can bring people together. I’m running for the Legislature because our families and neighborhoods need independent leadership working for a better quality of life, stronger public schools, and good-paying jobs of tomorrow. We need consensus-building problem-solvers now more than ever to help build a better future for our state and our families.
